Midva Hidma, the 24 year old naxal who masterminded the Chhatisgarh attack
Midva Hidma is 24 and heads the first military battalion of the CPI (Maoist). Investigations have shown that it was Hidma who had planned and executed the attack on the CRPF party on Monday at Chhattisgarh in which 25 jawans were killed.

Investigations have also shown that he was present at the attack site at Sukma on Monday. Hidma joined the outfit at a very young age and by the time he was 20 he had already led a big attack in Chhattisgarh. It was under him that the military battalion which carried major attacks grew stronger.
Hidma has become a role model for the youth and this has ensured that he is able to recruit with ease. Hidma brought into the outfit at least 20 of his childhood friends. They form the inner circle of the military battalion which reports only to him.
The police have now launched a manhunt for Hidma. There was very little intelligence on him. He has built up a dedicated network which provides him with crucial intelligence. Apart from his close circle, he only interacts with the area commanders. Known to be a brutal and key planner of the outfit, he is capable of staging big attacks, Intelligence Bureau officials say.
