Chhattisgarh Man Arrested for Allegedly Raping His Daughter and Niece While on Parole
A 35-year-old man, previously convicted of rape and currently on parole, has been accused of raping his minor daughter and a 12-year-old niece in Chhattisgarh's Koriya district. The police reported his arrest on the night of October 26 after he had been evading capture for several days.

The accused allegedly assaulted his 11-year-old daughter in a room on October 19. Two days later, he took her to a forested area in Gada-Budha under the guise of gathering wood and raped her again. Family members reported the incident to Baikunthpur police station, where a complaint was lodged.
Police Investigation and Arrest
The man also threatened his daughter with harm if she revealed the assault. On October 21, he visited his niece's home and, finding her alone, took her to a forest in Bhukbhuki and sexually assaulted her. The next day, the 12-year-old victim filed a complaint at Baikunthpur police station with her mother.
Following these complaints, two separate cases were registered against him under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The police initiated an investigation and began searching for him.
Challenges in Locating the Accused
Tracking the accused proved challenging as he did not carry a mobile phone. However, police received leads when he used someone else's phone to make calls. With technical assistance from the cyber cell and tips from locals, authorities raided Burani Jharia and Am Tikra areas in Korba district, leading to his arrest on October 26.
The man had been released on parole since October 19 for another rape case from 2020. Four years prior, he had raped another minor relative and was sentenced to life imprisonment by a court for that crime.
