If you have any important bank work pending, this is the time to plan. Banks will remain closed on Thursday, April 10, on account of Mahavir Jayanti, according to an NDTV report. With the Second Saturday on April 12 and Sunday on April 13, it will be a long weekend for bank staff in many parts of the country.

Mahavir Jayanti, also known as Mahavir Janma Kalyanak, marks the birth of Lord Mahavir, the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism. It is one of the most important religious festivals for the Jain community and is celebrated in March or April each year, based on the lunar calendar.

According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday list, banks will be closed on April 10 in several major cities, including:
