Maharashtra CM Fadnavis: Pakistan Behind Delhi Car Blast, Planned to Bomb 'Every Corner of India'

Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis has alleged that Pakistan was responsible for the recent blast near the Red Fort in Delhi that killed at least ten people. Speaking at a commemorative event in Mumbai, he said the neighbouring country was relying on terror operations since it could not defeat India in a direct confrontation.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis alleged that Pakistan orchestrated the Delhi blast near the Red Fort and the Pahalgam attack, and he praised security agencies for dismantling a terror module and recovering ammunition; these remarks were made at the Global Peace Honours event in Mumbai.

Pakistan Accused of Engineering Attacks Across India

Addressing the gathering on Saturday, Fadnavis said Pakistan had orchestrated both the Pahalgam attack and the Delhi blast. "Pakistan knows it cannot defeat India in a straightforward war, and hence the terrorist attack in Pahalgam and the recent blast in Delhi took place," he stated. He also praised security agencies for dismantling a white collar terror module and recovering nearly 3,000 kg of ammunition that was reportedly intended for use in multiple cities, including Mumbai.

Fadnavis added, "I am glad that today we have a changed India. India first sensed these things and conducted operations... their intentions were to detonate bombs in every corner of India, and many cities of our country, including Mumbai, were their targets. But when our Indian agencies sensed this and directly attacked them, they demonstrated their presence by carrying out an explosion in Delhi."

CM Cites Stronger National Security Approach

Highlighting the central government's stance on terror, the chief minister said, "PM (Narendra) Modi has said terror and talks can not go together, and gave freedom to the armed forces to take action. Through Operation Sindoor, the world saw India's might. India is a strong country, and the war (against terror) is not over."

His remarks came during the event "Global Peace Honours: Remembering the Heroes of 26/11 and Victims of Pahalgam Attack" held at the Gateway of India. The programme was organised by the Divyaj Foundation, an initiative led by Amruta Fadnavis.

Remembering the Pain of 26/11

Fadnavis also reflected on the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, saying the tragedy still weighs heavily on the nation. "Though 17 years have passed, there is still pain in our hearts," he recalled while speaking about the four day assault by Lashkar e Taiba terrorists that claimed 166 lives in multiple shooting and bombing incidents.

He stressed that the attack was not limited to iconic hotels. According to him, targeting Mumbai was an assault on India's economic and national strength. "Had we understood this and showed the courage to conduct an 'Operation Sindoor' then, nobody would have dared to attack us again," he said.

The chief minister also referenced India's cross border strike in May 2025, a response to the Pahalgam attack a month earlier, in which at least 26 tourists lost their lives.
