Mauni Amavasya, also known as Maghi Amavasya, marks the new moon day and holds immense importance for Hindu devotees. Taking a dip at the Sangam on this day during Mahakumbh is considered highly auspicious and spiritually rewarding.

Traffic and Parking Advisory for Mahakumbh 2025

1.Restricted Vehicle Entry

  • Vehicles are strictly prohibited in the Mahakumbh area to prevent overcrowding and ensure safety.
  • Special measures have been implemented to avoid stampede-like situations.

2. No VIP Privileges

  • No VIP access will be allowed in the Mahakumbh zone.

3. Pontoon Bridge Traffic Rules

  • Only one-way traffic will be allowed on pontoon bridges. In certain cases, these bridges will remain closed on January 29 for crowd control, as per The Indian Express.

4. Parking Arrangements for Devotees

  • Kali 2 Parking: Accessible via Baghambari Road near the temporary police station near Alopi Devi Temple.
  • Nagavasuki Ramp Parking: Reachable through Hasimpur Bridge from Balsan Square.
  • Ashok Nagar and Katra Area Visitors: Parking available at Colonelganj Inter College and Muslim Hostel Ground.
  • GT Road Access: Parking at Plot No. 17, Jawahar Square, Harshvardhan Square, and Bangar Square.
  • Yamuna Bank Road Visitors: Parking near ECC Degree College and Jamuna Christian School.
  • IERT Ground Parking: Ideal for visitors from Mumfordganj via Mazar Square after crossing the IERT Over Bridge.
