Local BJP Leader Dr BD Dwivedi Passes Away After Delays Caused by City Barricades
A local BJP leader, Dr. BD Dwivedi, tragically passed away in his car while being rushed to a hospital. His family struggled to reach medical help due to numerous city barricades. The family claimed these delays were critical in not reaching the hospital on time.

Dr. Dwivedi's son, Rahul, recounted the ordeal, stating, "We faced many hurdles crossing the barricades. I would say that not reaching the hospital in time caused the death of my father on Saturday, as it took two hours for us to reach the hospital. We were not in a position to even wait for the ambulance, as ambulances were also taking one to two hours to reach us."
Medical Emergency Challenges
According to family members, Dr. Dwivedi, aged 62, experienced chest pain and discomfort on Saturday morning. He was accompanied by his wife, son, and driver as they attempted to reach Shriram Hospital in Ayodhya. However, their journey was hindered at the Devkali barrier.
The distressed family pleaded with police officers present at the barrier to let them through. They also called the station in-charge and SSP for assistance, but their calls went unanswered. After an hour and fifteen minutes, they managed to get past the barrier.
Efforts by Local Authorities
Despite finally getting through one barrier, their vehicle encountered more obstacles along the way. They tried another route via Ram Path but were stopped again at Udaya Chauraha. Eventually, they decided to head towards Faizabad's district hospital.
Unfortunately, by this time, two hours had elapsed since they first set out for medical help. Dr. Dwivedi passed away en route before reaching any hospital facilities.
Community Reactions
The incident drew reactions from local leaders and community members. Diwakar Singh, media in charge of Ayodhya's BJP unit, expressed deep sorrow over the incident. Singh remarked that if Dr. Dwivedi had reached the hospital in time, it might have provided some solace to his family.
Ayodhya's Mayor Girish Pati Tripathi visited Dr. Dwivedi's home and attended his cremation on Sunday. Tripathi stated that efforts are underway to station ambulances at strategic locations across Ayodhya to better handle medical emergencies.
This tragic event highlights the urgent need for improved emergency response systems and infrastructure in Ayodhya to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
