Live Stream Ayodhya Deepotsav 2024: Check Date, Timing, And Celebration Details
Ayodhya is set to sparkle with the brilliance of traditional earthen diyas and a stunning display of drone technology on October 30, 2024, marking the first Deepotsav celebrations following the grand opening of the Ram temple earlier this year. This year's festival promises to be a spectacular event, drawing millions of devotees and tourists to witness the cultural and spiritual significance of Ayodhya.
Significance of Deepotsav

Deepotsav, a five-day festival, commemorates Lord Ram's return to Ayodhya after a 14-year exile. This year's celebrations will be particularly momentous as they coincide with the consecration of the Ram Lalla idol at the newly constructed Ram Mandir. The eighth edition of the festival will see Ayodhya adorned with 28 lakh diyas and include two ambitious record attempts: a 1,100-person Saryu Aarti and the lighting of 25 lakh diyas by 30,000 volunteers across 55 ghats. A team from the Guinness World Records will be present to oversee the event, ensuring the counting process is precise and accurate.
Challenges in Record-Breaking Attempts
Nischal Barot, a Guinness World Records official, mentioned the challenges involved in counting the diyas. "The biggest challenge for us is to complete the counting. Our entire system relies on a symmetrical arrangement," he explained. The counting process involves a dry count of the diyas before they are filled with oil and lit. Volunteers are diligently working to ensure that all diyas meet the required measurements, as any discrepancies could complicate the final count.
Dazzling Displays and Cultural Programs
In a remarkable fusion of tradition and technology, Ayodhya will also feature a mega drone show comprising 500 drones that will illuminate the skyline with stunning formations, including the 'veer mudra' of Lord Ram, Lakshman, and Hanuman. This breathtaking presentation will be complemented by a laser light show, voiceovers, and musical narration.
As part of the festivities, the majestic Ram Ki Paidi ghat will host the lighting of the first earthen lamp by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Additionally, 18 large mechanized tableaux will showcase various episodes from the life of Lord Ram, drawing inspiration from international festivals in Bolivia, Switzerland, Brazil, Colombia, and Germany.
