Liberals on a meme fest posting beef images while mocking Cow Hugging Day

New Delhi, Feb 09: The Animal Welfare Board of India urged people across the country to observe 'Cow Hugging Day" on February 14. While emphasising the importance of cows in society the board said that this move will help in spreading positive energy and happiness.

Since being announced by the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairy, in partnership with the Animal Welfare Board, many so-called liberals have bombarded the internet with nasty remarks. Some event on to share images of beef.

"Only Hug? Naah. She's Gonna Kiss You Too. Enjoy This Valentine's Day... #CowHugging," said Aslam Shader on Twitter. He also posted a photoshopped image of a cow with lipstick.

Another user posted a photoshopped image of a man with a skull cap sitting next to a coin and said"me and who #CowHugging."

Another made a meme and called it Cowtanic, while another user share an image of beef curry to mock the initiative by the government. One more user, Varan Kandasamy shared an image of an insinuate person sleeping next to a cow.

Another user called Yasmin Kidwai tweeted, " do we need permission from the Cow or will my true love just be waiting for me on the road side.

The announcement by the Board:

The Animal Welfare Board said on February 8 that it wants to commemorate Cow Hug Day on February 14 to give people a chance to feel warm sentiments and be joyful.

The board also referred to cows as the backbone of Indian culture and rural economy. Cow is known as Kamadhenu and Gaumata because of their nourishing nature.

Signed by Dr. Sujit Kumar Dutta, secretary of the board, the statement said that the Vedic practices are nearly on the verge of extinction due to the growth of the western culture. Hence it is urged that the people observe Cow Hug Day in order to protect and promote the nation's heritage.

Further it also be noted that the campaign is entirely voluntary and no one is compelled to participate in the same.

Cow hugging in the West:
