Kolkata Rape-Murder Case: Victim's Family Accuse Police Of Suppressing Key Evidence
The family of the Kolkata trainee doctor, who was raped and murdered at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital last month, has accused the police of suppressing evidence in the case.
Joining the ongoing protests in Jadavpur, the victim's father and aunt made serious claims against the authorities, reported India Today.

Addressing the protesters, the trainee doctor's aunt said, "The police and administration are trying to cover up the incident. Why are they always ever ready to suppress evidence? Her parents waited for three to four hours to see the body. They were not allowed to enter that room (seminar hall)."
She added that hundreds of others had access to the room, while the family was kept out. "It has been one month since the heinous incident. Why was everything done in a hurry? If the police and administration are doing such things, then whom will we approach?"
The father of the victim shared his devastation, stating, "That incident finished everything. Within one day, our lives and dreams were shattered."
He expressed gratitude for the support from junior doctors demanding justice, saying, "Please stand with me till a solution is reached. Your voices have strengthened me from the inside. I was heartbroken after this incident."
The trainee doctor's semi-naked body was found on August 9 in the hospital's seminar hall, and an autopsy confirmed she was raped and murdered.
The next day, Sanjay Roy, a civil volunteer with Kolkata Police, was arrested and remains in judicial custody. The CBI took over the case last month.
Earlier, in an interview with Aaj Tak Bangla, the victim's parents questioned why they were not allowed to see their daughter's body, with her mother alleging, "They were hiding something and didn't show the body of our child. Why did they take four hours to show the face of our daughter? What were they hiding? They were in a hurry to dispose of her body."
She further speculated that the accused was directed by someone to kill her daughter because the victim knew "some dark secrets" about the hospital's workings.
