OROP Politics: Kejriwal slams VK Singh for questioning the mental health of deceased army man
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal criticised Minister of State for External Affairs General(Retd) VK Singh on Wednesday for his ‘mental health’ comment over the alleged suicide of a veteran army man.
New Delhi, Nov 3: The politics over the suicide of an ex-serviceman over One Rank One Pension (OROP) in New Delhi on Wednesday is unlikely to die down soon.
Reacting to the Union Minister VK Singh's comment on the "mental health" of the retired soldier, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal slammed the former army chief.

"Shame on u VK Singh. He twice got medals from President and once from COAS. He was a decorated soldier," Kejriwal tweeted.
"He has committed suicide. No one knows the reason behind it. OROP is being shown as the reason. What his mental state was we do not know. Let it be probed first. OROP should be kept above politics," Singh told reporters, while reacting to alleged suicide by army veteran Ram Kishan Grewal.
The suicide by Grewal over OROP snowballed into a huge political show with Rahul Gandhi, Arvind Kejriwal and other opposition leaders being detained by Delhi police, after they tried to meet the kin of the ex-serviceman.
Later on both Gandhi and Kejriwal were allowed to leave the police stations, where they were kept for hours.
