Karnataka polls: IT officials raid residence of Congress candidate Ashok Kheny
A day before polling for the Karnataka Assembly, the Income Tax officials raided Congress candidate Ashok Kheny's house in Bidar. Kheny joined Congress recently amidst protest by some of the Congress leaders.

The IT sleuths noted that there were complaints against Kheny about doling out cash to voters. The raid was conducted by an eight member team headed by District Deputy Commissioner Anirudha Sharavan and ZP CEO Selvamani.
In 2013, Kheny contested from the Bidar South Assembly constituency as Karnataka Makkala Paksha candidate. He defeated JD (S) leader Bandeppa Khashempur. Also, Kheny is the Managing Director of Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises (NICE), which is best known for the construction of Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor (BMIC) project.
Kheny has been in the news for his scuffles with former Prime Minister of India H. D. Deve Gowda over the land acquisition for the BMIC project.
