Probe Into Prayagraj-Bhiwani Kalindi Express Incident

"An attempt was made to derail the Kalindi Express by placing an LPG cylinder on the tracks," a senior police official stated. Upon receiving information, senior officers rushed to the site and initiated an investigation. The Railway Protection Force is also involved in probing the matter, as reported by Hindustan Times.

The loco pilot applied emergency brakes after spotting the object, but the train struck the cylinder before coming to a halt. Fortunately, the collision caused the cylinder to move away from the tracks, preventing a major accident.

Recent Incidents

This is not an isolated incident in Uttar Pradesh. On August 17, 22 coaches of the Varanasi-Ahmedabad Sabarmati Express derailed near Kanpur after hitting a boulder. In July, four passengers died when the Chandigarh-Dibrugrah Express derailed in Gonda district.

An FIR has been lodged regarding this latest incident, and two individuals have been detained for questioning. Six teams have been formed to crack the case. A bottle containing liquid, identified as a molotov cocktail, and a sweet box bought from Chibramau in Kannauj were recovered from the site.

Authorities are taking these incidents seriously and are working diligently to ensure passenger safety on India's railways. The investigation into this recent attempt to derail a train continues as officials seek to prevent future occurrences.
