Jharkhand Assembly Elections: Parties Making Last-Minute Efforts To Reach Out To Voters
Political parties in Jharkhand are making last-minute efforts to connect with voters before the second phase of assembly elections. This includes door-to-door canvassing and social media campaigns. The second and final voting round covers 38 assembly seats, while the first phase for 43 segments took place on November 13.
The ruling JMM-led INDIA bloc and the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) are actively engaging with voters through social media. Candidates and party workers have been visiting homes since last night to garner support. Although official campaigning ended on Monday, door-to-door canvassing with up to five workers is still allowed by the Election Commission.

Social Media Engagement
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, BJP's election in-charge for Jharkhand, shared a video on X urging voters to support the saffron camp on November 20. Meanwhile, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren also reached out to people via X, asking for their backing based on his work and future plans.
Soren highlighted his government's achievements and promised more if the JMM-led coalition remains in power. He emphasized that his schemes do not have caste-based restrictions. His wife, Kalpana Soren, a JMM candidate, criticized the BJP on X, stating, "We will choose love and development, not hatred and conspiracy."
Voter Demographics
The upcoming election involves 528 candidates vying for 38 seats. Among them are 55 women and one candidate from the third gender. A total of 1.23 crore voters are eligible to vote on Wednesday, including 60.79 lakh women.
For this crucial phase of elections in Jharkhand, over 14,000 polling stations have been established across rural and urban areas. This ensures accessibility for all eligible voters as they prepare to cast their votes.
