Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha of Jammu and Kashmir recently spoke at the closing ceremony of Audit Week at the Convention Centre in Jammu. In his address, Sinha highlighted the significance of public audit in ensuring last-mile delivery and proper utilization of funds.
Sinha Stresses Timely Release of Audit Reports

Sinha emphasized the need for auditors to release their reports as soon as possible. This, he believes, will facilitate prompt action related to the evaluation of policies and programs. He also urged government departments to address any shortcomings identified in the audit reports quickly.

Sinha acknowledged the role of artificial intelligence and knowledge-based expert systems in facilitating audit risk evaluation, internal control evaluation, and audit planning. However, he also highlighted the new challenges posed by these technologies, particularly concerning data security and minimal human control.

The Lieutenant Governor emphasized the need for auditors to pay special attention to the safety and security of IT systems. He stressed the importance of safeguarding these systems to mitigate risks and ensure the integrity of audit processes.
