Jaipur: German Woman Abused, House Attacked By Neighbors Over Petty Issue

A shocking video of a German woman being abused and her house attacked in India has surfaced online. The incident occurred at Jagatpura area in Jaipur, Rajasthan.

The victims have been identified as Julia and her husband, Uttam Sharma. The conflict reportedly began over their pet dog. Some society residents alleged that the couple's dog was defecating in common areas and that they were not cleaning up after it. However, Uttam Sharma stated that they always cleaned up immediately.

The disagreement escalated when a neighbor allegedly tried to attack them with a hockey stick. The situation worsened the following day. In a video shared by Julia, a crowd of neighbors, including women, can be seen gathered outside the couple's home.

Vandalism and Stone-Pelting

The video shows the group pelting stones at the house and breaking doors and windows. The attackers also allegedly attempted to forcibly enter the home, snatch their phones, and dismantle their CCTV camera. During the ordeal, Julia said she tried to contact the police and the German Embassy for help.

Questions Raised Over Police Action

The police response has added another layer of complexity to the case. Authorities arrested the husband, Uttam Sharma, on a counter-allegation of slapping a girl. The fact that Sharma, who was himself a victim of the attack, was arrested based on the aggressors' complaint has raised serious questions about the handling of the situation, according to report in the Hindi media.

The incident has sparked concerns over the safety of foreign nationals and the process of resolving local disputes.
