Jaipur Bandh: Rajput Outfits Call For Shutdown Today Over Karni Sena Chief's Killing
Jaipur remains under a tense atmosphere following the tragic killing of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, the leader of Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, who was fatally shot at his home by unidentified attackers. His supporters staged protests outside the hospital where he was taken, leading to road blockades and calls for a shutdown by various Rajput organizations across the state.

Here are the latest developments:
- The entire incident was captured on CCTV, identifying one assailant as Naveen Singh Shekhawat, who died in a subsequent exchange of fire. The other two fled on a snatched scooter.
- Prior to the attack, Gogamedi had been receiving threats and had notified the police. A relative mentioned this to reporters outside the hospital.
- The killing has sparked a political debate in the state. Congress leader Pramod Tewari alleged that the timing of the incident, just after the BJP's victory, indicated a rise in criminal activity.
- Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat expressed shock at the incident and pledged to make Rajasthan crime-free, emphasizing the BJP's commitment to achieving this goal upon taking office.
- Rajasthan DGP Umesh Mishra confirmed ongoing police raids at potential hideouts of the assailants, seeking assistance from Haryana authorities. The Rohit Godara gang has claimed responsibility for the murder, with efforts underway to apprehend them.
