J&K: One Soldier Martyred in Fierce Gunfight During Operation Trashi In Kishtwar
A soldier of the Indian Army was martyred during an ongoing encounter with terrorists in the Chhatru region of Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district on Thursday. The anti-terror operation, codenamed Operation Trashi, is being conducted jointly by the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
According to official sources, the soldier sustained critical injuries in a fierce exchange of gunfire and, despite intensive medical efforts, succumbed to his wounds.

The gunbattle erupted after the security forces made contact with terrorists hiding in the dense forest area. Additional reinforcements have been deployed, and the entire region has been cordoned off to ensure the successful continuation of the operation aimed at eliminating the militants.
The Indian Army's White Knight Corps confirmed the martyrdom on X (formerly Twitter), stating, "During the ongoing operation, a fierce gunfight is continuing. One of our #Bravehearts sustained grievous injuries in the exchange of fire and has succumbed despite best medical efforts. Operation is in progress."
Security forces remain on high alert, and further updates are expected as the encounter develops.
