Inside Operation Sindoor: Tri-Services Chiefs Monitored Deadly Strikes On Terror Camps in Pakistan, PoK
The Indian Army has released the first images of the country's senior military officials, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, and Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, overseeing the execution of 'Operation Sindoor' from the Integrated Headquarters Operations Room.
Operation Sindoor, launched on the night of May 6-7, was India's immediate retaliation to the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which murdered 26 people. Following incontrovertible evidence linking the attack to cross-border terrorist groups, India launched a precise military campaign against key terror hubs in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

The Indian Army shared photographs taken at 1:05 am on May 7 from the command center, depicting the tri-service chiefs and senior officers in real-time coordination during the high-stakes mission. The operation resulted in the elimination of over 100 terrorists, with no civilian casualties reported.
Under Operation Sindoor, Indian forces struck and destroyed nine terrorist camps linked to Pakistan-based outfits like Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), and Hizbul Mujahideen.
Among the major targets were the Gulpur and Abbas camps in Kotli, as well as the Barnala camp in Bhimber, all located in PoK.
The Gulpur facility served as a crucial base for LeT operatives infiltrating Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri and Poonch districts. The Abbas camp was identified as a core training site for LeT suicide bombers. Meanwhile, the Barnala installation functioned as a training center for weapon handling, IED assembly, and jungle warfare survival skills.
The Indian Army highlighted that the operation was preceded by a rigorous intelligence process, including extensive analysis of Pakistan's terror infrastructure to pinpoint critical targets.
Officials emphasised that the operation was guided by strong ethical considerations and operational restraint. The strikes were executed with precision to ensure that only legitimate terror targets were neutralised, and every possible measure was taken to avoid civilian harm or collateral damage.
The success of Operation Sindoor is being hailed as a significant blow to the operational capabilities of terrorist groups operating across the Line of Control, sending a strong message about India's zero-tolerance policy on cross-border terrorism.
