Indore Candidates Launch Indefinite Agitation for Extension of State Service Main Exam Dates
Candidates who passed the preliminary round of the State Service Examination 2023 in Indore are staging an indefinite protest in front of the MPPSC headquarters, demanding an extension of the main exam dates to allow more time for preparation.
In a significant development, a group of candidates who successfully cleared the preliminary round of the State Service Examination 2023 have come together to launch an indefinite agitation in front of the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) headquarters in Indore. Their primary demand is an extension of the main examination dates to ensure adequate time for thorough preparation.

Protests and Demands
The candidates have taken a resolute stand by laying siege to the MPPSC headquarters building and staging an indefinite sit-in protest. Their concerns stem from the announcement of the main examination schedule, which is set to take place from March 11 to 16. They contend that the MPPSC has not provided sufficient time for comprehensive preparation, considering the importance of the main exam.
Akash Pathak, a prominent candidate among the protesters, voiced their collective sentiment. He emphasized that candidates who have successfully navigated the preliminary examination should be granted at least 90 days to prepare effectively for the main test. Pathak asserted that the agitation will persist until their demand for an extension is acknowledged and accepted by the authorities.
Heightened Security Measures
In response to the candidates' protest, eyewitnesses reported a noticeable increase in police presence around the MPPSC headquarters. Additional police forces were deployed to maintain order and ensure the safety of all parties involved.
Examination Details
It is noteworthy that the results of the State Service Preliminary Examination-2023 were declared on January 18. Out of approximately 2 lakh aspirants, a mere 5,589 candidates were selected to advance to the main examination. This highly competitive examination aims to fill 229 posts across various state administrative services.
The ongoing agitation by candidates in Indore highlights the significance of adequate preparation time for competitive examinations. As the MPPSC deliberates on their demands, the focus remains on ensuring a fair and equitable examination process that upholds the aspirations of all candidates.
