IAS Nandini Chakraborty transferred ahead of polls in Bengal

Kolkata, Feb 22: In a major reshuffle in the IAS cadre in West Bengal today, Commissioner in the Presidency Division Nandini Chakraborty has been transferred to the department of Bio-Technology as Secretary.

Chakraborty has been asked to join the new post immediately, while the state's Tourism Secretary A R Bardhan has been given additional charge as Commissioner in the Presidency Division, state secretariat officials said.

This was Chakraborty's second transfer in the last six months and that too ahead of the coming Assembly elections in the state.
