Haryana Sports University Elevates Diploma to LNIPE Standards

Haryana Sports University's Diploma in Sports Coaching is now recognised as equivalent to LNIPE, Gwalior, enhancing sports education opportunities.

Haryana Sports University, Rai Vice-Chancellor and former DGP, Ashok Kumar, announced that the Diploma in Sports Coaching from Haryana Sports University is now equal to the one from Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education (LNIPE), Gwalior. This decision shows the government's commitment to promoting sports education excellence.

Haryana Sports University was established by Haryana Act Number 21 of 2022 and is recognized under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956. It is becoming a centre of excellence. The equivalence with the NIS, Patiala diploma means that PGDSC Diploma holders from HSU will now have equal opportunities in sports coaching across India.

The last date for submitting application forms for admission to various courses at HSU has been extended to July 15, 2024. Earlier, the deadline was June 21, 2024. This extension allows more students to apply. Applications can be submitted online at www.suoh.ac.in.

There are 50 seats each in Regular Mode and Hybrid Mode, designed for in-service and active players. Additionally, a Bachelor of Science in Sports Science is available with an intake of 50 seats. For postgraduate students, the Master of Physical Education and Sports programme has 30 seats.

HSU also offers Post Graduate Diplomas in specialized sports coaching disciplines. These include Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Cricket, Football, Handball, Kabaddi, Lawn Tennis, Volleyball, Wrestling, and Yoga. Each diploma has an intake of 25 seats.

Besides these, HSU offers PG Diplomas in other relevant disciplines. The equivalence will enable students to pursue higher studies and careers on par with graduates from other leading institutes.
