Senior Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Haryana Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta were among the candidates who their nominations for the upcoming Assembly elections. for the 90 Assembly seats in Haryana is scheduled for October 5, with vote counting set for October 8.

Hooda, a former Chief Minister of Haryana, filed his nomination from the Garhipla Kiloi constituency in Rohtak district. He was accompanied by his wife Asha Hooda, son Deepender Hooda, and daughter-in-law Sweta Hooda. Before filing his papers, a 'havan' ceremony was performed.

Key Candidates and Their Constituencies

Gian Chand Gupta, the current Speaker of the Haryana Assembly, filed his nomination from the Panchkula constituency. He was joined by BJP leader Biplab Kumar Deb, who is also the co-incharge of Haryana affairs. Gupta is seeking re-election from this seat.

BJP nominee Shakti Rani Sharma also filed her nomination papers from the Kalka constituency. She later held a roadshow in her area, accompanied by her husband Venod Sharma, a former Union minister, and her son Kartikeya Sharma, a Rajya Sabha MP.
