Haryana Civic Polls: CM Nayab Singh Saini Campaigns for BJP Candidates in Gurugram, Faridabad, and Manesar
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini actively campaigned for BJP candidates in Gurugram, Faridabad, and Manesar ahead of the urban local body elections. He participated in roadshows in Gurugram and Faridabad and led a rally in Manesar. Saini criticised Congress leaders, labelling them as "tweet masters" disconnected from ground realities, while emphasising development as BJP's primary focus.

During the Gurugram roadshow, Saini supported BJP's mayoral candidate Rajrani Malhotra and councillor candidates for 36 wards. The procession began at Colony Mor and proceeded to the bus stand via Sadar Bazaar. BJP supporters lined the route, showering flower petals on Saini, who greeted them with folded hands and urged them to vote for BJP on March 2.
BJP's Development Agenda
Saini expressed confidence in BJP's victory, stating, "The lotus will bloom in all wards of Gurugram and it will see tremendous development." He highlighted Haryana's rapid development under BJP's governance, attributing it to well-planned initiatives ensuring citizens benefit from government schemes. The chief minister assured that the government prioritises the interests of common people.
In Faridabad, Saini campaigned for mayoral candidate Praveen Joshi. He reiterated that Haryana is progressing swiftly under BJP's leadership. The party aims to secure a one-sided victory in the municipal elections scheduled for March 2. Polling for Panipat Municipal Corporation will occur on March 9.
Election Dynamics and Incidents
The upcoming elections involve four municipal councils, 21 municipal committees, and seven municipal corporations, including Faridabad, Gurugram, Manesar, Hisar, Karnal, Rohtak, and Yamunanagar. Despite the campaign's enthusiasm, Saini faced protests from Aam Aadmi Party leader Sudesh Rana during his cavalcade. Rana waved a black flag and was detained by security personnel.
Rana's wife, Promila Rana, is contesting from ward number 8 in Faridabad. During the roadshow, a mobile phone was accidentally thrown towards Saini but hit his car instead. Police clarified that it slipped from a supporter's hand while showering petals. The phone was later returned to its owner.
Saini also held a rally supporting Sunderlal Yadav Sarpanch, BJP's mayoral candidate for Manesar Municipal Corporation. He noted the public's enthusiasm as an indicator of BJP's impending success. "Congress people are tweet masters and have no knowledge of the ground reality," he remarked.
The BJP recently celebrated its third consecutive victory in Haryana Assembly polls last October. As the elections approach, Saini remains optimistic about BJP's prospects across various municipalities.
