'Har Ghar Tiranga' Campaign Expected To Generate Rs 600 Cr Business, Provide Employment To 10 Mn People
The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) is vigorously promoting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign nationwide with immense enthusiasm.
This year, it is expected that about 35 crore tricolor flags will be sold through the campaign, generating a business of around Rs 600 crore. Last year, the sale was around Rs 500 crore.

CAIT has appealed to all businessmen in the country to hoist the national flag on their shops and homes from August 13 to 15, and to distribute tricolor flags to their employees so that they can put them up on their homes. The organisation said that the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign has created a sense of patriotism among people across the country and has opened up new opportunities for businesses.
CAIT National President BC Bhartia and National General Secretary Praveen Khandelwal have requested Prime Minister Modi to declare the period from August 15, 2023 to August 15, 2024 as 'Swaraj Year'. They have also urged the Prime Minister to make an appeal to the people of the country to hoist the tricolor flag on their homes on the occasion of the G20 conference to be held next month.
Bhartia and Khandelwal said that till August 15, more than 4000 Tiranga programs will be organised by business organizations across the country under the banner of CAIT. These programs will include Tiranga Rallies, Tiranga Marches, Tiranga Gaurav Yatras and Swaraj Marches.
They said that the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign has provided employment to more than 10 lakh people across the country. These people have made tricolor flags on a large scale in their homes or in small places with the help of local tailors. The SME manufacturing and trading sector has worked day and night to produce Indian flags with various sizes such as 6800x4200mm, 3600x2400mm, and 150x100mm in large numbers in the most organized manner.
Prior to the year 2022, the annual sale of the Indian tricolor on the occasion of Independence Day in the previous years was limited to around Rs 150-200 crores. However, the Har Ghar Tiranga movement has increased the sales manifold to Rs 600 crore.
