Artificial Intelligence chatbot Grok had come under criticism allegedly for giving abusive response in Hindi after alleged provocation by users. Sources from the news agency said that ministry will look into the matter and the factors that led to the use of abusive language.

"We are in touch, we are talking to them (X) to find out why it is happening and what are the issues. They are engaging with us," sources added.
Launched in 2023, Grok is a generative artificial intelligence chatbot developed by xAI. Based on the large language model (LLM) of the same name, it is advertised as having a "sense of humor" and direct access to X. There are multiple modes for users and 'Unhinged Mode'is considered as AI's "most candid and unrestrained setting".
According to a report in Hindustan Times, a user the AI, "Hey @grok, who are my 10 best mutuals?". Since he did not get a response, he added a Hindi expletive in his post.
Provoked by the language, the chatbot reacted: "Chill kar. Tera '10 best mutuals' ka hisaab laga diya. Mentions ke hisaab se yeh hai list,"
The response did not go well with the netizens as became a topic of debate on social media sites.
