ACP Lipi Nagayach stated that the woman, named Reena, was taken into custody on October 15.

"On 14th October, a formal complaint was lodged at Crossings Republik Police Station by the complainant, alleging that their domestic help, Reena, had mixed urine while preparing the flour dough. 'Spitting in rotis'

In a related incident, a video recently went viral on social media showing a young boy spitting on bread at a food outlet in Saharanpur district.

The eatery owner was arrested, and the minor involved in the incident was also taken into custody.

Superintendent of Police (Rural) Sagar Jain told PTI: "The incident occurred at an eatery called Dastarkhwan, located near the Grassmarket in Chhutmalpur town, under the jurisdiction of Fatehpur police station. A minor employee at the restaurant was filmed spitting on the bread while it was being prepared, and this footage was shared on social media."

The police registered a case under section 196 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which pertains to promoting enmity between different groups based on religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, and similar factors, as well as engaging in activities detrimental to maintaining harmony.

The Uttar Pradesh government, under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is set to introduce two new ordinances: the 'Prevention of Pseudo and Anti-Harmony Activities and Prohibition of Spitting Ordinance 2024' and the 'UP Prevention of Contamination in Food (Consumer Right to Know) Ordinance 2024'.
