Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya Partners with Indian Navy to Enhance Logistics Education and Research
Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya in Vadodara has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Navy to advance logistics education, research, and training. This agreement was formalised by Vice Admiral Deepak Kapoor, Controller of Logistics for the Indian Navy, and Manoj Choudhary, Vice Chancellor of Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya. The Ministry of Railways released a statement highlighting this development.

Enhancing Logistics Capabilities
The MoU is a significant step towards enhancing the logistics capabilities and operational efficiency of the Indian Navy. It aims to improve the Navy's logistical framework by concentrating on supply chain management, multimodal transportation, and sustainability. This collaboration aligns with national initiatives like the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan 2021 and the National Logistics Policy 2022.
The agreement also paves the way for sharing expertise and case studies in areas such as artificial intelligence applications, predictive analytics, and blockchain technology. These efforts are intended to elevate logistics practices within the Navy. A specified number of Indian Navy officers will have the chance to pursue academic degrees and management programmes tailored specifically for them at Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya.
Expanding Defence Education
Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya has existing partnerships with both the Indian Army and Indian Air Force. With this new collaboration, it now addresses the educational and research needs of all three defence services. The university's focus on transportation and logistics positions it as a leader in skill development and innovation within this crucial sector.
Vice Admiral Deepak Kapoor expressed that this partnership would provide the Navy with advanced logistics capabilities and practical insights. Meanwhile, Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya stands to gain from the operational expertise shared by the Navy. Vice Chancellor Manoj Choudhary emphasised the importance of efficient logistics in rapidly mobilising forces.
The university remains committed to fulfilling its national mandate through innovation and collaboration. This MoU represents a strategic move to strengthen India's defence logistics infrastructure while fostering educational growth in related fields.
