GATE & JAM 2025 Exam Centre Shifted From Prayagraj Due To Maha Kumbh: See Steps To Download New Admit Card
In a joint announcement, IIT Roorkee and IIT Delhi have informed students that the GATE 2025 and JAM 2025 exams, which were scheduled for February 1 and 2, in Prayagraj, will now take place in Lucknow on the same dates. This change comes due to the ongoing Maha Kumbh, which is expected to create significant travel disruptions in Prayagraj.
Candidates are advised to download their updated admit cards from the official portals and ensure that their exam centre details are correct. In addition to the admit card, all candidates must present their photo ID, which was uploaded during the application process, for verification.
Official Statement IIT Roorkee, the organising institute for GATE 2025, and IIT Delhi, the organising institute for JAM 2025, released a statement explaining the change. "Representations have been received from several candidates expressing their difficulty in reaching the examination centres in Prayagraj due to the huge congregation of devotees expected at the Maha Kumbh. Therefore, the examination scheduled at centres in Prayagraj has been shifted to centres in Lucknow on the respective GATE and JAM examination days," the statement said.
It also mentioned that the JAM 2025 exams scheduled for February 2, in Prayagraj have been moved to Lucknow, and candidates can download their new admit cards from the JOAPS portal. "The inconvenience caused is much regretted," the statement added.
