G20 Summit: Traffic Curbs In Delhi From Tonight, Schools Shut Tomorrow | Details Here
Preparations for a seamless and secure G20 Summit, scheduled for September 9-10 in the national capital, are in full swing. To ensure the safety of this major geopolitical event, the Delhi Police has issued a set of traffic restrictions that will be in effect from September 7 to 10.
Starting after midnight on September 7, traffic restrictions will be enforced at the Sirhaul border, remaining in place until midnight on September 10. During this period, heavy, medium, and light goods vehicles will not be permitted to enter Delhi from 9 pm today until midnight on Sunday.

As per a notification from the Delhi government, the entire district will be designated as a "Controlled Zone" from Friday morning until Sunday. Only legitimate residents and authorized vehicles, including those engaged in essential services like housekeeping, catering, waste management for hotels and hospitals, will be allowed to access areas such as India Gate and C-Hexagon.
Beginning Friday through Sunday, all food and commercial delivery services, excluding medicines, will be suspended. Deliveries from platforms like Swiggy, Zomato, Amazon, and Flipkart will not be permitted within the controlled zone, except for medicines and essential items.
Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic) SS Yadav clarified, "Essential services such as postal and medical services, as well as sample collections by pathology labs, will be permitted across Delhi. In the New Delhi area, commercial activities will not be allowed. Online delivery services will be suspended, but medicine deliveries will continue."
Delhi Traffic Police has advised Delhi-NCR residents to consult the 'Mappls Mapmyindia App' for vital traffic and public transport information regarding routes to the airport, railway stations, bus, and metro stations in anticipation of the G20 Summit.
From 5:00 pm on September 9 until 23:50 pm on September 10, no TSRs (Three-Wheelers), auto-rickshaws, or taxis will be permitted to operate or enter the New Delhi District. Vehicles affiliated with the Armed Forces, Police, Disaster Management teams, Ambulances, or those involved in emergency services like road and electric supply maintenance will have unrestricted movement throughout the district.
IndiGo has informed passengers about flight cancellations at Delhi airport during the G20 Summit. The airline stated, "Due to the G20 Summit 2023 taking place in New Delhi, IndiGo is offering one-time waivers for passengers traveling to and from Delhi between September 8 to 11, 2023."
