Faridabad, February 5: In a swift operation, the Faridabad Police has successfully rescued a 47-year-old man who was kidnapped by three men from Vrindavan in Mathura. The accused, identified as Vishnu, Vivek, and Gopa, were arrested on Monday, February 5, following a complaint lodged by the victim's nephew.
Modus Operandi of the Accused
During interrogation, it was revealed that the three accused are drug addicts who resorted to kidnapping to fund their drug habits. Posing as police officers, they abducted the victim, Rohtas, a resident of Sagarpur village in Faridabad, on February 3, while he was visiting Vrindavan.
The accused took Rohtas to Vivek's shop, where they beat him, tied him up, and snatched Rs 400 from him. They then proceeded to demand more money and contacted Rohtas' nephew, Deepak, demanding Rs 20,000 and threatening to kill his uncle if the ransom was not paid.
Rescue Operation and Arrests
Deepak initially paid Rs 5,000 online, but when the accused demanded more money, he approached the police. Prompt action was taken, and an FIR was registered at the Sadar police station on Sunday. As a result, the victim was successfully rescued, and the three accused were apprehended the same day.
Ongoing Investigation
The Faridabad Police spokesperson, Sube Singh, stated that the accused are currently being interrogated, and the motorcycle used in the kidnapping is expected to be recovered soon. Further investigation is underway to ascertain any additional details or involvement of other individuals in the crime.
The successful rescue operation and arrests demonstrate the efficiency and dedication of the Faridabad Police in ensuring the safety and security of its citizens. Such prompt action serves as a deterrent to criminal activities and reinforces public trust in law enforcement agencies.
