‘Ensure Safety Of Hindus’: India To Bangladesh Over Chinmoy Krishna Das' Arrest
The Indian goverment on Tuesday expressed its "deep concern" over the arrest and refusal of bail to Hindu leader Shri Chinmoy Krishna Das in Bangladesh.
In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs, said, "We have noted with deep concern the arrest and denial of bail to Shri Chinmoy Krishna Das, who is also the spokesperson of the Bangladesh Sammilit Sanatan Jagran Jote. This incident follows the multiple attacks on Hindus and other minorities by extremist elements in Bangladesh,"

The authorities on Monday qrrested the leader of the Hindu group Sammilita Sanatani Jote from the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport area in Dhaka. However, the details around his arrest have not been revealed, yet.
"Das was detained in line with a request from (regular police)," PTI quoted spokesman of the Police's Detective Branch Rezaul Karim as saying.
On the other hand, the The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) has urged India to raise the issue with the Bangladesh government.
The Kotwali Police Station in Dhaka had filed a case against 19 people includinhg Das for allegedly disrespecting the national flag of Bangladesh during a rally of the Hindu community in Chattogram's New Market.
While the said incident took place on October 25, the case was filed on October 30.
