Elderly Couple Kill Themselves In Rajasthan, Children Blamed For Abuse In Suicide Note: 'Take A Bowl And Beg'
A 70-year-old man and his wife allegedly took their own lives by jumping into the water tank at their home in Rajasthan, leaving behind a note accusing their children of severe mistreatment in an attempt to seize their property, according to the police.
The note detailed how the couple's sons and daughters-in-law had assaulted them on at least five separate occasions, threatened to kill them, and even denied them food, telling their mother to "take a bowl and beg".

Hazariram Bishnoi, 70, and his 68-year-old wife Chawali Devi, who lived in Nagaur, Rajasthan, were found dead in the water tank at their Karni Colony residence on Thursday.
The couple had four children - two sons and two daughters - and in the two-page suicide note pasted on a wall of their home, they wrote that their son Rajendra had beaten them three times, while their other son, Sunil, had done so twice.
The note also claimed their sons and daughters had warned them against speaking out or filing a complaint, threatening to kill them in their sleep if they did, reported NDTV.
The note named Rajendra and his wife Roshni, Sunil, his wife Anita and son Pranav, as well as the couple's daughters, Manju and Sunita, and a few relatives.
The couple accused their children of wanting to take all their property, with relatives allegedly encouraging them to achieve this by any means.
The children had already managed to obtain ownership of three plots of land and a car by deceiving and arguing with the couple, according to the note.
It detailed how the car had been transferred to the names of Rajendra, Manju, and Sunita, while Sunil and his wife Anita had secured the transfer of a house in Karni Colony.
Denied Even Food
Having taken all of this, the children allegedly refused to provide any food for the couple and would verbally abuse them over the phone daily. The note mentioned that Sunil had called them and said, "Take a bowl, beg for food. I will not give you food. If you tell anyone, I will kill you."
Nagaur Superintendent of Police Narayan Togas stated that they were alerted on Thursday after no movement was observed in the house. Upon searching the premises, the bodies were found in the water tank.
"The key to the house was found in Hazariram's pocket, and a forensic team has gathered evidence. We are working to obtain footage from a CCTV camera inside the house, and the bodies have been sent for post-mortem. A suicide note has been recovered," said Togas.
On Monday, Sunil had submitted a memorandum to the Nagaur Superintendent and authorities, claiming his parents had discussed framing their children in a suicide case. Officials suspect the couple died on Tuesday and are "exploring all possibilities" in their investigation.
