Do It Live: Protesting Wrestlers Accept WFI Chief's Narco Test Challenge

Wrestler Vinesh Phogat on Monday accepted Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh's challenge of undergoing a narco test to ascertain the truthfulness of wrestlers' sexual harassment allegations against the WFI president.

"I am accepting Brij Bhushan's challenge of the narco test. Not just me, all the girls who have given the complaint, are ready to undergo the Narco test. But we want the narco test to be done live so that the entire country knows about his cruelty to the daughters of the country," Vinesh Phogat said at a press conference today.

Wrestlers Sakshi Malik, Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia speak with the media during their protest against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi

Echoing similar views, Olympic bronze medallist Bajrang Punia said that wrestlers were ready to take the Narco test earlier as well.

Narco tests should be monitored by the Supreme Court, and telecast live for the entire country, he said.

"We would like to see what questions are being asked. He has asked for the Narco Test of Vinesh and myself. I am saying why only two of us but also all those girls who have filed complaints should also undergo Narco Test," said Bajrang Punia.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, the WFI chief said that he is ready to appear for a narco-analysis or polygraph test to prove his innocence.

"I am ready to undergo a narco test, polygraph test, or lie detector test, but my condition is that Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia should also undergo these tests with me. If both the wrestlers agree to undergo it, call a press conference and make an announcement. I promise them that I am ready for the test," he posted in Hindi.

The protesting wrestlers are set to take out another round of candlelight march from Jantar Mantar to India Gate.

"We must remind people that ours is a peaceful protest and anyone trying to disrupt peace with provocative speeches or any kind of trouble would be himself responsible for consequences and we don't take any responsibility," Sakshi Malik said.
