Diwali 2025 Gift: UP Teachers Can Now Access 100% Cashless Medical Treatment

Teachers in Uttar Pradesh have received a significant benefit just before Diwali 2025. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a cashless medical treatment scheme for educators across the state. This initiative will directly benefit around 9 lakh teachers and educational staff, offering them 100% free healthcare without any fees or contributions required.

The cashless medical treatment scheme aims to reduce financial burdens while providing immediate healthcare benefits. Approximately 11 lakh families, comprising 60 lakh individuals, are expected to benefit from this initiative. The scheme covers teachers, education assistants, trainers, and mid-day meal cooks working in primary and upper primary schools, aided secondary schools, aided colleges, and self-financed institutions.

Focus on Educational Staff

This move is seen as a symbol of security and respect for educational personnel at all levels within the state. During a Teacher's Day event at Lok Bhavan auditorium, the Chief Minister honoured teachers by distributing tablets and inaugurating smart classrooms. He emphasised that teachers should continue giving their best for children's education with full government support assured.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath described this facility as 'historic,' stating it would directly benefit nearly nine lakh teacher families. He highlighted that teachers and their families would no longer face financial difficulties during illnesses or emergencies. The Chief Minister called this initiative a token of gratitude from the government for the contributions made by educators.

Commitment to Education

The Chief Minister stressed that teachers are not only knowledge providers but also builders of the nation's foundation. Their honour and welfare remain a priority for the government. He mentioned that initiatives like Operation Kayakalp and Project Alankar have significantly improved school conditions in the state. Under Operation Kayakalp, 1.36 lakh schools have been equipped with 19 basic facilities.

Through Project Alankar, 2,100 schools have received new buildings and safer environments. Initiatives such as Nipun Bharat Mission and Bal Vatika enhance children's language and mathematical skills while providing nutrition and basic education. The Chief Minister assured that soon a report would guide further reforms in education.

Educational Standards

Regarding UP Board students, CM Yogi asserted they are now on par with those from other boards. He remarked that teachers remain educators throughout their lives, holding more significance than bureaucrats or politicians because they lay the country's foundation. Criticising opposition parties, he noted that before 2017, Uttar Pradesh lagged in education, health, and security.

The Chief Minister pointed out that exams were synonymous with cheating and chaos back then. He accused those spreading negativity now of trying to hinder the state's progress but affirmed that Uttar Pradesh will no longer dwell in negativity.

Innovations in Schools

CM Yogi encouraged looking at state schools which can compete with convents and public schools. Citing innovations in districts like Sultanpur and Varanasi as evidence, he asserted that government schools meet quality standards. He emphasised moving beyond traditional methods as innovation inspires society.

The announcement of cashless medical treatment is part of broader efforts to improve educational infrastructure and support educators in Uttar Pradesh. By ensuring healthcare access without financial strain, the government acknowledges the vital role teachers play in shaping future generations.
