Delhi Police Arrests Rajasthan Man for Allegedly Aiding Pakistani Intelligence with SIM Cards
A man from Rajasthan has been detained by the Delhi Police for allegedly assisting Pakistani Intelligence Operatives (PIOs) by providing Indian mobile SIM cards for espionage purposes. Officials disclosed this information on Thursday. The suspect, Kasim, aged 34, had visited Pakistan twice, once in August 2024 and again in March 2025, staying there for approximately 90 days.

During his trips to Pakistan, Kasim is believed to have interacted with officials from Pakistan's spy agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), according to a senior police officer. Kasim, who resides in Gangora village in Deeg district, was taken into custody earlier today and is currently under police remand.
Espionage Network Investigation
In September 2024, the Special Cell received intelligence indicating that Indian mobile numbers were being exploited by PIOs to collect sensitive information about the Indian Army and government establishments. These SIM cards were reportedly acquired in India and sent across the border with assistance from Indian nationals.
Using these Indian SIM cards on social media platforms, PIOs reached out to Indians to obtain classified details about sensitive installations and departments. Following these inputs, a case was registered under relevant legal sections, and an investigation commenced.
Uncovering Links with ISI
As the investigation progressed, Kasim's name emerged. Further inquiries revealed his travel history to Pakistan and suspected connections with ISI personnel. The police are continuing their investigation to uncover the full scope of the espionage network and identify other Indian collaborators involved in the conspiracy.
The authorities are determined to expose any additional individuals linked to this espionage operation. They aim to dismantle the network and prevent further misuse of Indian mobile numbers for such activities.
The ongoing investigation highlights the importance of vigilance against espionage threats. It underscores the need for robust security measures to protect sensitive national information from foreign intelligence agencies.
