Delhi Elections 2025: PM Modi Slams Arvind Kejriwal, Says AAP-da’s Ship Will Sink In Yamuna
Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticised the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for their unfulfilled promise to clean the Yamuna River. He mocked their audacity in claiming that cleaning the river doesn't guarantee votes. He further accused them of wanting people from Purvanchal to celebrate Chhath Puja in polluted waters.
PM Modi praised the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) manifesto, describing it as a "wonderful Sankalp Patra" for Delhi's citizens. He assured that once the BJP forms the government after February 8, all promises will be fulfilled within a set timeframe. "Modi's guarantee means the guarantee of fulfilment," he stated.

Yamuna River Allegations
Addressing allegations by Arvind Kejriwal about poisoning the Yamuna, Modi responded strongly. He said, "A former CM of Delhi has levelled disgusting allegations on people of Haryana. Due to fear of losing, people from 'aapda' have got rattled. Are people of Haryana different from those in Delhi? Are relatives of those living in Haryana not residing in Delhi? Can the people of Haryana poison the water their own people drink? The water sent by Haryana is consumed by everyone living in Delhi, which also includes this Prime Minister..."
The Prime Minister emphasised that Delhi should reflect its status as India's capital and questioned if it currently appears as a modern city. He remarked that despite 25 years into the 21st century, Delhi still faces issues like traffic jams, dirty streets, broken roads, and contaminated drinking water.
Development and Infrastructure
He highlighted that before his tenure as Prime Minister, India had only 3 crore tap water connections. Since taking office, he intensified efforts rather than halting them. As a result, 12 crore tap water connections were provided during his leadership.
Modi urged citizens to bring Delhi out of its current state and complete pending projects from the past 11 years while planning for the next 25 years. He criticised both Congress and AAP for ruining two generations with their governance.
The Prime Minister's remarks aimed at rallying support for BJP while highlighting perceived failures of rival parties in addressing critical issues affecting Delhi's residents.
