Delhi Election 2025: Rahul Gandhi Challenges Arvind Kejriwal To Drink Yamuna Water

In a recent rally in Bawana, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi criticised AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of making Delhi residents consume polluted Yamuna water. "Kejriwal made Delhi people drink dirty Yamuna water, I challenge him to drink Yamuna water as promised few years ago," Gandhi stated during his speech ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections.

Rahul Gandhi also targeted former deputy chief minister and AAP leader Manish Sisodia, labelling him as the "architect of the liquor scam" alongside Arvind Kejriwal. This comment was part of his broader critique of the AAP leadership's actions and promises.

Congress Ideology and Promises

Gandhi emphasised that the Congress party stands firm on its ideology and refrains from making false promises. He assured that if elected, Congress would conduct a caste census. He accused both Arvind Kejriwal and Prime Minister Narendra Modi of being against reservation policies that benefit Dalits, minorities, backward classes, and the poor.

He further clarified his stance on the Yamuna's pollution by stating, "I will never say that I will drink Yamunaji's water. I don't want to drink Yamunaji's water, I know Yamuna is polluted." This statement highlighted his awareness of the river's contamination issues.

The rally was part of Rahul Gandhi's campaign efforts to garner support for Congress in the upcoming elections. His remarks aimed to draw attention to what he perceives as failures in governance by the current administration in Delhi.
