Days After Violence In Nuh, Haryana Govt Bulldozes Shanties Of Illegal Bangladeshi Immigrants
Days after violence in Nuh, the Haryana government on Thursday razed down 250 shanties of illegal immigrants, NDTV reported.
Reportedly, illegal immigrants from Bangladesh, who had previously resided in Assam, were found to have established makeshift settlements on Haryana Urban Authority land in ward number one along Mohammadpur road in Tauru town, Nuh district. They have been reportedly living here for four years, the report said.

However, this is seen as an action against the accused involved in the recent communal violence, according to a report in The Tribune. The majority of the people who pelted stones and attacked shops along with people were from the settlement, it reported citing police sources.
It is reported that the cops recognised the people through the CCTV footage and videos and then carried out the demolition act on the illegal encroachments.
As per police sources, the authorities are planning to conduct similar drives at various locations, including Nalhar village, where a VHP yatra was attacked by mobsters. Over 50 properties in different areas of Nuh have been identified for these operations.
It has to be noted that the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal had demanded "bulldozer" action against the accused involved in the violence. It is similar to what Yogi Adityanath's government in Uttar Pradesh has been doing against the people who are involved in the violence that result in damage to public properties.
However, the Haryana government too had adopted Yogi Adityanath's bulldozer "justice" system in the past. In 2022, state police with the civil administration razed several illegal structures built on government land in Sonipat district by notorious gangster Sandeep alias Kala Jatheri. Previously, the Nuh police seized and demolished illegal properties belonging to infamous criminals, encompassing cattle smugglers, illegal miners, extortionists, arms dealers, and cyber criminals.
Six people, including two home guards and a cleric, died in the clashes that erupted in Nuh over an attempt to stop a Vishva Hindu Parishad procession and spread to Gurugram. Over 176 people have been arrested so far and a total of 93 FIRs have been filed.
Meanwhile, three motorcycles were set on fire on Thursday night in Pataudi area, police said. The motorcycles were parked outside Rashid Auto Works near Chungi no. 4 while a mechanic was sleeping inside the shop. Firefighters doused the flames and rescued the mechanic, police said.
