Days after escape, Abu Hanzala’s picture surfaces on social media
Naved alias Abu Hanzala has surfaced on the social media, just three days after he escaped from a hospital in Srinagar. In the photograph he is seen holding an AK-47 rifle and posing with two of his Hizbul Mujahideen counterparts, Sadam Paddar and Aadil Malik.

It may be recalled that the Hizbul Mujahideen had on Wednesday said that Hanzala had reached his destination. They said that following the escape he reached his destination in South Kashmir.
Hanzala who was lodged in the Srinagar jail had been taken to a hospital for a check up. Two of his accomplices were waiting for him at the hospital. Upon his arrival, they fired at the police and helped Hanzala escape. Two police personnel lost their lives in the incident.
Meanwhile the Jammu and Kashmir government undertook a major re-shuffle exercise. S K Mishra was transferred and posted as Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Jammu and Kashmir Police Housing Corporation, a Jammu and Kashmir government order said.
In another major reshuffle, the government also replaced Muneer Khan with Swayam Prakash Pani as the Inspector General of Police, Kashmir range. However the decision regarding Khan had nothing to do with the escape and was part of a routine re-shuffle.
The decision to transfer Mishra was made at a Cabinet meeting chaired by chief minister Mehbooba Mufti. Dilbag Singh, a 1987 batch IPS officer, replaced him.
Singh was Commandant General, Home Guards/Civil Defence/State Disaster Response Force, Jammu and Kashmir.
