The suspense regarding whether Rahul Gandhi will contest a second seat, particularly Amethi in Uttar Pradesh, remains unresolved, with discussions on the matter postponed to subsequent meetings, as stated by the party. In recent weeks, an aggressive election campaign has been underway, highlighted by Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, which has progressed through Gujarat and is set to conclude in Mumbai.

A massive rally is scheduled for March 17, with invitations extended to all party leaders across India. The Congress president is in the process of drafting a letter to all party associates. Additionally, several promises have been announced, including legislation for Minimum Support Price (MSP), a caste census, and social security measures for gig workers.

Five pledges have been made for the youth of the nation, including Bharti Bharosa, guaranteed first jobs, youth empowerment, and freedom from exam pressure. The announcement of 39 candidate names was preceded by remarks from KC Venugopal, who expressed gratitude for the opportunity to defend his seat, emphasizing a commitment to a fair and constructive electoral contest.

Shashi Tharoor, upon the announcement of his candidacy, expressed humility and gratitude for the opportunity, noting a history devoid of negative campaigning over his fifteen years in politics. Regarding the Delhi seats where candidates have yet to be finalized, Venugopal clarified that the party's selection process prioritizes candidates with the greatest potential for victory, ensuring there are no conflicts in ticket distribution.
