Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge's Health Deteriorates While Addressing Poll Rally In Jammu and Kashmir
During an election campaign in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge experienced a health scare. While addressing the crowd, he felt dizzy and nearly fainted. His security team and other Congress members quickly assisted him, causing a temporary pause in the campaign activities.
Kharge was speaking in Jasrota before the third phase of elections when he suddenly felt unwell. He began to breathe heavily but managed to regain composure after drinking some water. Despite this, he concluded his speech swiftly. The Congress party is contesting these elections in partnership with the National Conference.

Kharge's Determination
After the incident, Kharge expressed his resolve to remain active in politics until Prime Minister Narendra Modi is removed from power. "We will fight to restore statehood. I am 83 years old, I am not going to die so early. I will stay alive till PM Modi is removed from power," he declared.
He criticised the central government for delaying the elections, suggesting they would have been held sooner if there had been genuine intent. According to Kharge, preparations only began following a Supreme Court order. He accused the government of wanting a remote-controlled administration through the Lieutenant Governor.
Criticism of BJP's Performance
Kharge also questioned PM Modi's contributions over the past decade, particularly concerning youth prosperity in India. "PM Modi did not give anything to the youth of India in the last 10 years," he stated. He urged people to challenge BJP leaders on their promises of prosperity.
The Congress leader's comments reflect ongoing political tensions as parties gear up for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections scheduled for 2024. The alliance between Congress and the National Conference aims to challenge BJP's influence in the region.
The incident involving Kharge highlights both his commitment and concerns about his health amidst intense campaigning efforts. As political dynamics unfold, all eyes remain on how these developments will impact voter sentiment in Jammu and Kashmir.
