Chirag Paswan To Leave NDA? LJP (R) Chief Says Can Give Up Ministerial Post...
Chirag Paswan, a minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government, recently stirred discussions with his statement about prioritising principles over his ministerial position. The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) leader expressed willingness to relinquish his role rather than compromise on values, following the example set by his late father, Ram Vilas Paswan.
Paswan made these comments during a party event in Patna, emphasising his commitment to the NDA as long as Narendra Modi remains Prime Minister. He addressed journalists' queries about his speech, clarifying that he referred to the Congress-led UPA when he mentioned renouncing his ministerial berth.

Chirag Paswan's Stand on Dalit Issues
While praising PM Modi, Chirag Paswan highlighted the government's responsiveness to Dalit concerns. He cited the Centre's stance on the "creamy layer" policy and lateral entry into bureaucracy as examples of its attentiveness to Dalit needs. This reflects the current regime's efforts to address issues affecting the Dalit community.
Paswan recalled that during his father's tenure in the UPA government, several actions were against Dalit interests. He noted that even pictures of Baba Saheb Ambedkar were absent at public events, prompting their departure from the. His role was crucial in realigning with the BJP-led NDA before the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
Speculations Surrounding Chirag's Statement
Sources within both NDA and INDIA blocs suggest deeper motives behind Paswan's remarks than what he later explained. According to PTI sources, Chirag aims to strengthen his political base and emerge from BJP's shadow. Speculations also hint at dissatisfaction with BJP's closeness to his uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras, who split their father's party.
The young leader's rhetoric might be a strategic move to convey discontent with BJP leadership's rapport with Paras. This ongoing feud been a point of contention since Paras divided Lok Janshakti Party after Ram Vilas Paswan's demise.
Chirag Paswan continues navigating complex political dynamics while maintaining loyalty to PM Modi. His recent statements underscore a delicate balance between personal principles and political alliances within India's evolving political landscape.
