Cabinet reshuffle: Piyush Goyal gets additional charge of finance, Rathore replaces Smriti Irani as I&B minister
In major rejig in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Cabinet, Railways Minister Piyush Goyal given additional charge of Finance Ministry till Arun Jaitley recovers from his operation. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore was made the new Information and Broadcasting Minister (I&B) and Smriti Irani to handle only Textiles Ministry.

Smriti Irani had taken over the portfolio last July as an additional charge when Venkaiah Naidu resigned after emerging as NDA's pick for the post of the vice-president.
SS Ahluwalia will be looking after the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and Alphons KJ gets Ministry of Tourism.
The communique said that during the indisposition of Arun Jaitley, the portfolio of Finance and Ministry of Corporate Affairs, have been "temporarily" been assigned to Goyal. Jaitley underwent a kidney transplant today and is recovering. S S Ahluwalia has been relieved of the charge of Minister of State in Drinking Water and Sanitation Ministry and assigned a new portfolio of Electronics and Information Technology, the communique said.
