The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) sharply criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday following the circulation of a protest poster aimed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's upcoming visit to New York.

BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi accused Gandhi of colluding with foreign entities that are detrimental to India's interests, as reported by Hindustan Times.

BJP Takes Aim At Rahul Gandhi - Here's Why

As Prime Minister Modi prepared to board his flight to the U.S., Trivedi expressed his concerns, stating, "After Rahul Gandhi returned from playing politics with his sponsored allies, it appears that the same group in America is now displaying this hateful advertisement against Prime Minister Modi."

The controversial poster, which was shared by BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya on X (formerly Twitter), reads: "Protest: Modi, You're Not Welcome in New York," urging people to "raise your voice against a decade of oppression." A demonstration is scheduled for September 22 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Long Island, coinciding with Modi's visit.

Trivedi described the poster as "objectionable" and labelled it a "hate advertisement," questioning Gandhi's connections with those seen as enemies of India.

Malviya added that Gandhi's overseas engagements have consistently harmed India's image, stating, "Every time Rahul Gandhi travels abroad, he engages in divisive anti-India politics, including collaborating with forces opposed to India's interests." He emphasized that Gandhi's close aide, Sam Pitroda, was reportedly involved in organizing the protest, as reported by Hindustan Times.

Malviya further warned Gandhi to remember that he was seeking political relevance in India, asserting, "The people of Bharat will respond accordingly when the time comes."

As Modi embarks on a crucial three-day visit to the U.S. for key international meetings, including the Quad Summit and the United Nations General Assembly, he aims to enhance cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region, address global conflicts, and strengthen bilateral ties with world leaders, including U.S. President Joe Biden, as per media reports.
