BJP Goons Attacked Amethi Party Office, Accuses Congress; Says Smriti Irani Afraid Of Losing Elections

In a post on micro-blogging site X, Congress on Monday accused goons of BJP vandalised the party's Amethi office and vehicles parked outside their office. According to the reports, some Congress workers have also sustained injuries in the alleged attack.

Sharing a video after the incident, Congress workers said that "vehicles of local people were vandalised in front of police, however, the administration chose to be a mute spectator".

"Smriti Irani and BJP workers are badly scared in Amethi, UP. Frustrated by the defeat they saw, BJP goons armed with sticks and rods reached outside the Congress office in Amethi and vandalised vehicles parked there. There has been a deadly attack on Congress workers and people of Amethi. Many people are badly injured in this attack. This incident is a witness that BJP is going to lose badly in Amethi," Congress said in Hindi while sharing a video of the incident.

Reacting to the incident, Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate lashed out at authorities for being a silent spectator, while the BJP workers continued with their hooliganism.

"The wind has changed, breaking vehicles will not solve the problem, BJP people!," Supriya Shrinate said on X. She also tagged Uttar Pradesh Police to bring the matter in light.

Soon after her complaint, Amethi Police reacted and said that necessary legal action is being taken and a case has been registered under relevant sections.

"On the basis of the complaint received at the Gauriganj police station, necessary legal action is being taken by registering a case under the relevant sections," said police.
