BJP Accuses Lalu Yadav Family of Patriarchal Mindset Amid Rohini Acharya’s Allegations

A major controversy erupted after Rohini Acharya, daughter of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, claimed she was humiliated and blamed for the party's defeat in the Bihar elections. The BJP launched a strong political counterattack, calling out what it described as a patriarchal mindset within the Yadav family.

Resignation and Allegations Against RJD Leaders

Rohini, elder sister of Tejashwi Yadav, announced her exit from politics alleging that she was singled out for the poll loss by senior RJD leader Sanjay Yadav and Tejashwi's associate Rameez Khan. She also claimed a slipper was raised at her and said she was accused of obtaining an election ticket in return for a "dirty kidney." Rohini donated a kidney to her father in 2022, a sacrifice that made headlines nationwide.

Manoj Tiwari Reacts with Harsh Remarks

BJP MP Manoj Tiwari, who has deep connect with Bihar's audience, said the allegations reflect governance tendencies once associated with the party. He stated, "Those who were dreaming of running Bihar could not even run their own families. Rohini Acharya said that she was thrown out of the house for asking questions and was beaten up; this somewhere reflects the mentality for which the entire regime was known for jungle raj."

Amit Malviya and Vijay Sinha Add to BJP Offensive

BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya accused the Yadav family of disregarding women and alleged that Rohini's sacrifice was not honoured. He said, "Rohini Acharya donated her kidney to her father, Lalu Prasad, without caring for her own life, so that his life could be extended by some time. But Lalu gave more preference to his son Tejashwi than to the honour of his daughter Rohini. Today, Rohini Acharya is publicly saying that she was even beaten with slippers in the family. This is the real face of the patriarchal, anti woman, and male dominated mentality of the Lalu family. It is also inappropriate to expect respect for women from them."

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha questioned how such leaders can aspire to govern. He said, "The anarchy that was visible outside RJD is also reflected inside the family. People with such a mentality, who cannot keep their own family together, how can they run Bihar? It is their personal matter, so we will not say much, but this mentality will decide their future."

Chirag Paswan Calls for Calm and Reconciliation

Union minister and NDA ally Chirag Paswan stepped away from criticism and spoke emotionally about his relationship with the Yadav family. He said, "I have also been through this. We might have had political differences, but I always considered Lalu ji's family my own. Be it Tejashwi, Tej, Misa or Rohini, I have considered them my siblings. So, I pray that this family dispute is resolved at the earliest."
