Bihar Elections: 7.43 Cr Voters, Including 14 Lakh First Timers To Decide The Fate Of Next Govt

The Election Commission (EC) is holding a press conference to announce the date of the next assembly elections.

As per the central agency, there are 7.43 crore who will decide the fate of the next government. There are 14 lakh first timers who will exercise their democratic right for the first time.

The Bihar polls to take place in two phases on 6 and 11 November. The counting of votes will be held on November 14.

Approximately 3.92 crore are male voters, while 3.5 crore are female voters. There are 1725 transgenders, 4.04 lakh very seniors, and 14 thousand centenarians (100+ age).

Speaking at the press conference, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar said, "EC wants to tell voters of Bihar that we will ensure elections are conducted transparently while maintaining law and order."

There are 203 general constituencies, 38 reserved for SC and 2 for ST, taking the total number of seats to 243.

On the 2025 Bihar elections, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar says,"... CAPF will be deployed in advance as a confidence-building measure..All officers are to act in an absolutely impartial way. If there is any fake news or misinformation on any medium or platform, it will be countered. Strict vigil will be maintained at all checkpoints to prevent the transaction of drugs, liquor and cash..."
