Bihar Assembly Elections 2025: Rajnath Singh Addresses BJP Workers, Attacks RJD-Congress
During a state executive meeting in Patna, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh addressed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers. His speech was designed to uplift the spirits of party members as they prepare for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. Singh acknowledged that while some leaders have lost public trust, the BJP has tackled this issue by consistently working towards transparent governance and strong leadership.
"You are not workers of an ordinary party," Singh declared, emphasising the BJP's unique position in Indian politics. He noted that over time, public trust in politicians has waned due to discrepancies between their words and actions. However, he asserted that the BJP has embraced this challenge and restored faith among the people. Singh proudly stated that all promises made in their manifesto have been fulfilled.

Bihar's Cultural Significance
Highlighting Bihar's cultural importance, Singh mentioned its global relevance during international events. He shared how Nalanda University was featured as a backdrop during the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) meeting. Additionally, he presented a Madhubani painting titled 'Tree of Life' to his Chinese counterpart, General Dong Jun. Singh likened the BJP to a tree with deep roots strengthened by its workers.
Singh also invoked Bihar's rich history and contributions to civilisation. He described Patna as a land of wisdom crafted by Lord Vishwakarma for Lord Brahma. He recounted how Samrat Ashoka spread messages of peace from Patliputra and how Chanakya developed political principles there. Aryabhatta's contributions to astronomy and mathematics were also highlighted.
Upcoming Bihar Elections
The Legislative Assembly election in Bihar is anticipated for October or November 2025, covering all 243 constituencies. The previous elections took place in October-November 2020, resulting in the National Democratic Alliance forming the government with Nitish Kumar as Chief Minister. In August 2022, Kumar's JD(U) parted ways with NDA but later rejoined them in January 2024 after leaving RJD-led Mahagathbandhan.
Singh urged party workers to draw inspiration from Bihar's illustrious past as they approach the state assembly polls. "You all are not ordinary workers; you are the creators of Golden Bihar," he said, encouraging them to work diligently towards success in the upcoming elections. He described this gathering not just as a party meeting but as a resolution meeting aimed at advancing both Bihar and India.
