Assam Shocker: Teenager Gang-Raped After Tuition, Outraged Student Union Calls For Bandh

A 14-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by three men in the Nagaon district of Assam. The incident occurred on Thursday evening while the girl was returning home from tuition.

Locals found her unconscious by the roadside and immediately informed the police.

She was later admitted to the Dhing medical unit in Nagaon for treatment.

The incident has sparked massive protests in the area, with the Student Union calling for a Bandh.

Police have detained two individuals for questioning, and a search is ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma condemned the incident, describing it as a "crime against humanity" and vowed to ensure justice is served.

Taking to X, he wrote, "The horrific incident at Dhing, involving a minor, is a crime against humanity and has struck our collective conscience. We will NOT SPARE anyone & BRING the perpetrators to JUSTICE."

He further stated that he had directed the Director General of Police (DGP) of Assam to visit the crime site and ensure swift and decisive action against those responsible.

"I've directed DGP Assam Police to visit the site and ensure swift action against such monsters," Sarma added.
