Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Naidu Alleges YSRCP Government Desecrated Tirumala Temple and Initiates Sanitisation Process

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has accused the previous YSRCP government of desecrating Tirumala, home to the famous Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple. He stated that efforts to restore its sanctity have already commenced. Naidu criticised the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-led administration for allegedly providing substandard food to devotees, which he claims undermined the temple's holiness and hurt devotees' feelings.

Naidu Alleges Desecration of Tirumala Temple

During the inauguration of an Anna Canteen at the secretariat, Naidu emphasised that Sri Venkateswara Swamy is a highly revered deity among Hindus. He accused the YSRCP government of completely desecrating the temple. Anna Canteens provide affordable meals to those in need, reflecting Naidu's commitment to social welfare.

Quality Concerns and Allegations

IT Minister Nara Lokesh echoed these concerns, alleging that the quality of annadanam free food and Tirupati laddu had declined under the YSRCP regime. Lokesh claimed that corruption led to adulterated ghee being used in temple offerings. He highlighted that after the NDA government took charge, a new executive officer was appointed to oversee a thorough sanitisation process.

Lokesh explained that under Naidu's directives, ghee, rice, and vegetables were tested to ensure quality. The executive officer sent ghee samples to the NDDB lab for analysis. "Very clearly it was established in the report that lard, beef fat and fish oil were there," Lokesh stated, reinforcing Naidu's claims with evidence.

Sanitisation Efforts

The chief minister assured that stringent actions would be taken against those responsible for using substandard ingredients in prasadam, or consecrated food. "After finding the evidence that substandard ingredients were used to make prasadam consecrated food, we will take stringent action against the people responsible for it," Naidu declared in a press release.

Lokesh further mentioned that all powers were vested in the new executive officer to sanitise the system and prevent future irregularities. This move aimed to restore trust among devotees and maintain the temple's sanctity.

The allegations have sparked significant attention as both Naidu and Lokesh emphasised their commitment to transparency and accountability in managing temple affairs. The dissemination of lab results was intended to substantiate their claims and reassure devotees about ongoing efforts to uphold quality standards at Tirumala.
